ADSCO Celebates 45th Foundation Day

The 45th year founding anniversary of Agusan Del Sur College, Inc. kicked out in the evening of September 23, 2011 during the Awarding Ceremonies at the school gymnasium.

This year's celebration was one of the most significant celebrations of the year. A lot of preparations took place and was considered before this event took place. Preparations were made by each department together with the participation of the Supreme Student Government officers, headed by Ms. Sheena Kay C. Abarca, SSG Adviser. In the over-all results, the 3rd Place went to Faction 3 with a score of 1900; the 2nd Place, to faction 1 with 2075 points; and the Champion was faction 2 with 2150 points.

She upholds the principles of being firm, tough and strong for the sake of the common good. She has a warm, exuberant personality. She always smiles whenever you meet her in the campus. That is Arjen D. Gresola, a second year student and the reigning Ms. ADSCO high 2011.

“This was the only money left in my pocket,” said Jay Vonne Elpidas when he was interviewed after joining the competition. He also added that he was not anticipating that he will be crowned as Mr. ADSCO High 2011.

The united reinforcement of the whole faction 3 made him realize not to refuse the huge opportunity to own the prestigious wreath of honor. In the midst of the event, Elpidas didn’t expect that he will be nominated in all the categories; nevertheless, because of the roaring shouts and applause of the audience, eventually he was able to captivate the judge’s hearts.

Faction 1 Declared Grand Champion

Faction 1 (I and IV Day) was declared as the over- all champion during the awarding ceremony of the 44th Founding Anniversary of Agusan Del Sur College (ADSCO) on September 19, 2010.

Vellesas Bags DSPC 2010 Award

Livie C. Vellesas, Jr., a fourth year high school student, won 7th place in Editorial Cartooning - Filipino during the 18th Divisional Schools Press Conference (DSPC) 2010 which was held at the Bayugan National Comprehensive High School (BNCHS) last September 24-25, 2010.

Vellesas started honing his craft when he was still a first year student. Every year he joined in journalism contests but he failed to win. He never stopped dreaming that one day his being a cartoonist will be recognized by all. His last year stay in high school is his motivating idea to practice more his skill. The many sleepless nights and tiresome training, together with his school paper adviser, Mr. Wendel C. Federicos, paid off when he was declared as one of the winners in the DSPC ’10. Vellesas could never explain his feelings when he received his award on stage. For him, God prepares something good to all of us in time.

With another recognition given to an ADSCOnian, the whole studentry is so proud of his achievement. His school paper adviser and the administration are elated about this blessing.

ADSCO Goes National! ...7th among 52 Competitors Nationwide!

Ivy Charett Q. Madrista, the ADSCOnian Voice scribe, won 7th Place in Sports Writing Filipino, Secondary Level during the CY 2010 National Schools Press Conference (NSPC), Tagum City, February 22-26, 2010. Among the 52 contestants from across the country, she was declared as one of the best sports writers.

This young fourth year A student of Agusan Del Sur College (ADSCO) had teary eyes when her name was called as one of the winners of the said event during the awarding ceremony at St. Mary's College, Tagum City, February 25, 2010.

"Thank God," said Madrista when she was about to receive the award. Her winning the national contest gave honor and pride to all ADSCOnians and to the entire ADSCO community as well.

"Her being prayerful and humble made her win the contest," said Mr. Wendel C. Federicos, School Paper Adviser of The ADSCOnian Voice when asked about Madrista's secrets in winning the contest. "I hope that we can maintain our status in journalism contests may it be in divisional, regional and even national levels," he added.

The ADSCO community is very proud of you, Ivy ! Continue using and harnessing your God given talent.
